Will Magna-Glide's magnetic bobbin core interfere with my sewing machine software?

No. The magnetic is designed to deliver consistent tension. It is not strong enough to interfere with your machines internal workings.

Do I use Magna-Glide or Clear-Glide bobbins in my machine?

If your machine has a metal bobbin case you can use our Magna-Glide pre-wound bobbins. If your machine has a drop in bobbin case, then use our Clear-Glide pre-wound bobbins.

Does my machine use a size L or size 15/a bobbin?

Please refer to our bobbin comparison chart for more information on what size bobbin your machine takes.

What are the recommended tension settings for Glide wit a TOWA tension gauge?

Glide does not require as much tension as competitors. We recommend between 150-180.

Do you recycle magnetic cores?

My thread keeps shredding/breaking. What should I do?

Try adjusting your tension, sometimes it it can be too tight and cause breaking. Glide runs better with less tension.

Try replacing your needle, there can be a metal burr causing the shredding.

My bobbin is bird nesting, what should I do?

Make sure there is no backlash spring in the bobbin case. Try tightening the top and bottom tension.

How long does Luminary need to be exposed to light to glow, and how long does it glow?

Luminary only needs a few minutes of light exposure to glow for up to 8 hours!

Does washing affect Luminary? What are the washing instructions?

Luminary dimishes with every wash. But has been wash tested with up to 50 washes before the glow fades.

What recommendations do you have for using Glisten?

Glisten is very fine, and can sometimes drop and snag on the spool while on the machine. We recommend using a thread net for tangle free delivery.

What is a variegated thread?

Variegated thread is a multi-color thread that usually repeats color throughout the spools. Our variegated threads Affinity (polyester) and Harmony (cotton) repeat color every one-inch.
