There are numerous factors to consider when selecting the proper stabilizer: design stability, fabric stretch & type, and washability. The backing selected for any application must be stable enough to prevent movement during the embroidery process. Having hooping experience and skill play a major role in the quality and appearance of the embroidered piece.
Cut Away Products and Densities
Cut Away stabilizers are used to provide a stable foundation for delicate and stretchy fabrics.
Soft Cut - 2.5 & 3.5oz - Designed for medium and high stitch-count designs & logos with minimal stretch.
Classic Grid & Classic Grid+ - 2.5 & 3.3oz - Contains a woven core that provides excellent strength and is extremely soft to the touch.
Economy - 3oz - 100% polyester nonwoven offering maximum stability.Clear Stitch- 1.5oz - 100% nylon, also called poly mesh (no show). 1 piece offers no-show results, strong, sheer, and translucent.
Pro Fit - 2oz - Dri-Fit, Moisture-Wicking, 100% Polyproylene. Minimizes puckering and rippling on stretchy garments. Light, yet stable.
Tear Away Products and Densities
Tear Away stabilizers provide support and prevent fabric from moving, stretching, and disorting while stitching.
Rapid Tear - 1.3 & 2.2oz - A smooth, pliable, and firm tear away product designed for low-stretch and stable fabrics.Tear Stitch - 1.5, 1.8, & 2oz - Provides good stability and tears cleanly in all directions. Tear Stitch Soft - 1.8oz - Ideal for children's clothing or other projects where a soft & delicate feel is preferred.Easy Rip - 1.75oz - A pop away, 100% perforated polypropylene. It literally "pops away" without putting extra pressure on he fabric or design.Hat Stitch - 3oz - Provides stability while enhancing the overall clarity in lettering and design work.
Specialty and Complimentary Stabilizers
Peel-N-Stick - Designed for hard to hoop areas.Puffy Foam 3D - A unique foam that helps produce raised 3-D embroidered letters and designs.Cover-A-Stitch - Covers stitches on the inside of the garment in order to prevent skin irritation.Thermal Clear - A film that dissolves when heated by a hot and dry iron. Works well with satin, silk, etc. Fusibles - Primarily used on light-weight knits and woven fabric. An iron or heat-press will provide a permanent bond on the fabric surface. Soft & Stable - Long-lasting stability and body that is ideal for purses, bags, and totes.Tear-N-Wash - After washing, the stabilizer remnants break apart and wash away leaving "soft" embroidery, while making sure the stitches remain fully locked.
